Is a board with grooves better than a flat bottom, or does it really make a difference?
Quite a few boards have channels these days. What's more important is the rocker and the outline. Generally boards designed to be ridden with wake boots, require you to be well powered. While flatter strap boards are better for all around riding.
A board with a bit more rocker will be more enjoyable in lake chop, but a bigger and flatter board is easier for a beginner to get up and going.
Im going to be kitting in the toronto area and in the caribean quite a lot as i am down there often, is a medium rocker best to manage both locations
