Wow talk about a lot to read.. I guess at the very least I should get points for generating some excitement....... the last week and a half has been hell (ironically -or as some of you will no doubt think, karma- but I was dealing with a major customer complaint at work, and my free time chasing any wind I could find) and I haven't had the time to read anything on the forum since I pretty much posted this..
Some of you made some good points and others were just plain funny but regardless everyone seenms to have an opinion and that I can respect. However I felt disrespected by Bruce in an email exchange and I refuse to give my hard earned money to anyone who treats me like that.
Maybe Bruce is a good guy in person and doesn't come across well in email, maybe Bruce is great to the rest of his customers who "kiss a little butt" as another posted added, regardless I won't shop there again.
I am sure I could go on and reply to alot of the comments left but I won't, I'd rather focus on having a good time and getting back out in the water as soon as I can!
For the record SS is having it repaired and sent back though I haven't heard anything yet, and if it is in fact finger nail tears they never mentioned it to me (I also have a hard time believing that is the case becuase of where it is on the arm) . Also going forward I will just deal with NPX directly as I have already reached out to them and their manner of communicating has been very professional.

a little late to the partay here but never had any problems with SS.
Bruce n Spence n crew have always been great.
I've had problems with NPX suits tho - i do really like them - they're comfortable, warm, and flexible BUT i have had the 2 i have owned fail.
One blew a zipper and the other tore a neck seal (both assassins).
Didn't really care either time as i got a good deal on them (ie they're inexpensive) and the failures occurred after a year or so of use. I ride alot and that is as long as i expect out of them.
Not to turn this into a brand war but i've since moved to RipCurl suits and haven't had a single issue.
little more pricey but well worth it

I've had a pretty good experience overall with Silent Sports. They've set me up well with almost all my gear so far, except for the kites themselves. Sorry, I went with a non-Cabrihna kite and brand that SS doesn't sell - though their Cabrihna closeout deals have been pretty spectacular.
I would choose to deal with SS any day, even though it's a bit of a drive from where I live downtown, over a certain "other retailer" that operates a basement shop near Cherry Beach. Most people know who I am talking about. He is particularly condescending of his own "customers," and and has the worst customer service record of any store that I have ever dealt with, for anything. I know that's harsh but it's my honest opinion and I have ample evidence to back it up. I spend a lot of money on expensive gear to feed my addiction to niche outdoor activities.
SS and Boardsports, in my opinion, are the place to go in Toronto.

Sorry to hear as well.
I have found Spencer and Bruce to be amazing. I think Bruce does a great job buying deals and sharing it with the community.
I have nothing but good things to say.
A number of us who live on Wards Island and are always kiting at Hanlands think Silent Sports is the best.
Regards
Michael
