The kite anchor for launching and landing has now been installed in the water at the west side. Holme's Point Park is located on the south shores of Lake Simcoe close to Pefferlaw. See www.localkitespots.com for more info. For those of you looking for a location with shallow water, sandy bottom and waves (when strong north winds)this is the spot.
For teaching and learning it is one of the safest spots close to Toronto.
There is a sign in the parking lot for kiteboarding at the park erected by the Town of Georgina.
Please respect the rules and stay away from swimmers.
There is a fee for parking in the lot which is normally not enforced after 5:00 p.m.

3 days of Northerly + warm water temps should make for a great start to the week.

Perfect timing.. Ian commands the wind on Simcoe, good job. What a day today there.. seems that a lot of the kiting community was there.. just not happy with the parking fee situation. 21 dollars for the day..

The spot is a chop machine when its going off! That's why it only really works with 15+kn due to the onshore conditions.

Hope everyone had fun there today!

What I meant to say is that because of the chop I find I need the next kite size up, because I like to ride powered I find that < 15kn doesn't work very well for me there.

e.g. it was 7m weather this morning, but really only the 9m worked well.

Who was taking pictures there today? Can we get some posted?

thanks in advance,
